Payroll items are defined items utilized by the system for calculating employee attendance data.
They are divided into two categories - System payroll items and Default payroll items.
System payroll items are fixed components that the system uses to calculate worked time. These components cannot be deleted, only renamed or certain attributes can be modified. Upon installation, the system provides them as predefined in daily and monthly values. They can be extended to include calculations in weekly and yearly values. The components serve as a basis for basic attendance calculation and for configuring other related payroll components (e.g., summary, etc.).
They include:
Work time - This is, in fact, the employee's contractual time. It determines the number of hours/days the employee should work the assigned shift. It is calculated from the parameter "total length/total days" of the shift. The monthly value then specifies how many hours the employee is expected to work within the given month.
Worked (passage type) - This is the primary payroll component, but it is also a passage type payroll component. It is the basic calculation of worked time. In addition to the basic, non-marked time at work (i.e., time spent at the workplace), all recognized interruptions of working hours are also included in the calculation. (Interruption of working hours as a pass-through type payroll component, with the Absence Recognition setting: recognized – typically business trip)
Balance - The difference between the payroll component 'worked' + excused absences (interruption of working hours as a pass-through type payroll component with Absence Recognition setting: excused – typically doctor, sickness, vacation) and the working time fund.
A negative value therefore means that the employee did not work or excuse the required time; a positive value indicates the period the employee worked in excess of the prescribed shift.
Mandatory work time - This is similar data to the working time fund, but it corresponds to the core working hours (i.e., mandatory time) after deducting applicable breaks.
Losing time - This is the sum of the applied lost times at the start and end of the working period (according to the configuration of the shift or, as the case may be, the working time model).
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Break - This is the sum of fixed and, if applicable, calculated (floating) breaks applied within the calculated shift.
Late arrival - Late arrival is the time between the start of the scheduled shift and the actual arrival if the actual arrival occurs after the start of the scheduled shift.
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Early departure - Early departure is the time between the actual departure and the end of the scheduled shift, if the actual departure occurs before the end of the scheduled shift.
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Compensation for Absence - Making up for absence is the time counted on the day in question if there was a late arrival and the employee leaves later than the prescribed departure. If the excess working time is longer than the late arrival, the making up for absence time corresponds to the length of the late arrival, and the remaining time is calculated as overtime. Analogously, this is calculated in the case of early departure and work before the start of the shift.
It may also be calculated as making up for late arrival (absence) from the previous day (setting in the working time model – Compensation for late arrival on another day).
Behavior is influenced by the settings in the working time model.
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Work besides template shift - Calculated from worked time for days with no scheduled shift (i.e., no working time fund), as well as for work performed before the scheduled start or after the scheduled end of the shift.
Absence between arrival and departure - Calculates the time that reduces the worked time, i.e., the sum of unexcused interruptions of working hours (interruption of working hours as a pass-through type payroll component with Absence Recognition setting: unexcused – typically unpaid leave, private) and absence from the workplace.
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Absence toward core - Calculates the time that reduces the worked time, i.e., the sum of unexcused interruptions of working hours (interruption of working hours as a pass-through type payroll component with Absence Recognition setting: unexcused – typically unpaid leave, private) and absence from the workplace during the duration of the core shift.
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Absence toward agreement duration - Calculates the time that reduces the worked time, i.e., the sum of unexcused interruptions of working hours (interruption of working hours as a pass-through type payroll component with Absence Recognition setting: unexcused – typically unpaid leave, private) and absence from the workplace during the period of contractual working time (i.e., between the start and end of the scheduled shift).
This is a payroll component with an informational nature and a component required for further calculations.
Public holiday - Represents the length of the shift/working time fund on the day designated as a public holiday (according to local calendar settings) and on which the employee has a scheduled shift (model shift). Depending on the working time model settings, unworked time for the employee is excused specifically by the 'public holiday' payroll component (the working time fund is not generated), otherwise the worked time is added to the balance, etc. (The significance and handling of the 'public holiday' payroll component depend on the configuration of the working time model.)
Production Activity - Not implemented.
The system includes predefined default payroll items that correspond to the most common types of worked time. These components have an attribute (pass-through or supplement) and are most frequently presented on attendance terminals as reasons for interruptions of working hours. Together with primary components, they form the basic settings of the attendance system, which can be further modified and expanded. These components can be renamed, their attributes can be adjusted, or they can be deleted if not used. The components are also assigned to predefined working time models.
Holiday - Calculates time recorded as an interruption of working hours. It is marked either manually in the system or by the button on the attendance terminal when leaving or returning from this interruption. It is automatically added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused.
Doctor - The time is calculated as an interruption of working hours. The allocation of the interruption is set to the core working time or to the contractual time. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused. It is marked either manually in the system or by the button on the attendance terminal when leaving or returning from this interruption. The item has the “approve” attribute set, which means that the time spent on this interruption must be approved by the supervisor.
Without compensation - Calculates time recorded as an interruption of working hours. It is marked either manually in the system or by the button on the attendance terminal when leaving or returning from this interruption. It is automatically added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused. In this case, supervisor approval is possible.
Illness - Calculates time recorded as an interruption of working hours. It is marked either manually in the system or by the button on the attendance terminal when leaving or returning from this interruption. It is added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused.
Unpaid barrier - Calculates time recorded as an interruption of working hours. It is marked manually, because the supervisor must decide on the possibility of drawing from this item. It is added to the working hours fund or contractual working hours. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused. Usually, the employer does not compensate it. This includes, for example, a parent's wedding, the birth of a child, relocation, etc.
Unpaid leave - Indicates an interruption of working hours for employee-side obstacles. This includes relatives’ weddings, funerals, long-term absences, and others. It is marked manually, because the supervisor must decide on the possibility of drawing from this item. It is added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused.
Lunch - Indicates an interruption of working hours associated with the mandatory work break. It is marked upon leaving for or returning from this interruption on the attendance terminal. It is included in the continuous working time up to a length of 30 minutes. Any time in excess of this period is not counted. The mandatory break at work (generated automatically) is deducted from this time.
Care of family member - Indicates an interruption of working hours for care of a family member. It is marked upon leaving for or returning from this interruption in the software or on the attendance terminal. It is added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused.
Barriers at work - Indicates an interruption of working hours caused by the employer. It is marked manually in the system, because the supervisor must decide on the possibility of drawing from this item. It is added to the working hours fund or contractual working hours. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused. Usually, the employer compensates it.
Business trip - Indicates an interruption of working hours. It is marked when leaving for a business trip or, conversely, when returning from a business trip. The time for the interruption is added to the working hours fund and the time spent on this interruption is recognized and is part of the worked hours.
Paid leave - Interruption of working hours in the interest of the employer. This includes weddings, relocations. It is marked manually in the system because the supervisor must decide on the possibility of drawing from this item. It is added to the working hours fund. The time spent on this interruption is considered excused.
Night wage supplement - Indicates the time spent in the workplace during working hours on a night shift. For the time worked, the employee is entitled to a bonus according to the Labor Code or a collective agreement.
Saturday + Sunday wage supplement - Indicates the time spent in the workplace during working hours on Saturday and Sunday. For the time worked, the employee is entitled to a bonus according to the Labor Code or a collective agreement.
Holiday wage supplement - Indicates the time spent in the workplace during working hours on a public holiday. For the time worked, the employee is entitled to a bonus according to the Labor Code or a collective agreement.
